In 2007 an
effort was undertaken to have the major feast day icons painted for the Church.
The purpose of this project is to have, here in America, an Orthodox Church that continues the tradition of
our faith and have the visible representations of events in the life of Christ and the Saints so when anyone walks off the
street into the Church he walks into the Kingdom of Heaven.
Donations were made and we were able to have Andrij Maday paint the major feast day icons. Thus far we have
icons for Theophany (the Baptism of Christ in the Jordan),
the Entry into Jerusalem , the Resurrection of Christ ,
the St. Spyridon icon, and the St. Mary of
If anyone would like to donate an icon either
in memory of someone or for themselves you are welcome to do so. Just contact
Father John Fleser, john.fleser@verizon.net and he
will find out the cost for the icon and notify you of the cost.
During the summer months of 2008, St. Anna’s Church Hall was
renovated. In order to complete the renovations the parish took out a loan of
$50,000.00; we still owe the bank $30,000.00.
If anyone
would like to contribute towards paying off our loan it would be appreciated.

In addition to the Hall renovations an anonymous donor
gifted the Church funds that allowed us to insulate the Church ceiling, cover
it with sheet rock and paint the inside of the Church. This project was
completed in November, 2008.
It has been our prayer that at some point in time we would
be able to cover the inside of the Church with large icons and now that the
ceiling and walls of the Church are covered we are preparing a list of icons to
cover all available space. The back wall of the sanctuary will have a 10 ft icon
of the Theotokos
with two 5 ft icons of the Archangels , one on each side.
The icon of the Theotokos was donated ($8,500.00). Each of
the Archangels will cost $4,900.00. Once all the other icons have been selected
a list will be posted on our site.
If anyone
would like to contribute towards this icon project please make your donation on
line and notify Father John Fleser which icon you have selected.
In
Christ,
Father
John Fleser
All donations are tax deductible; a letter will be sent to you at the end of the year.
